Energous Demonstrates WattUp RF-Based Wireless Charging Technology at First Annual AirFuel Wireless Power Conference & Developers Forum

SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/13/18 -- Energous Corporation (NASDAQ: WATT), the developer of WattUp®, a revolutionary wire-free, power-at-a-distance charging technology, today announced that it will be demonstrating its latest WattUp RF-based wireless charging technology on-stage at the AirFuel Wireless Power Conference & Developers Forum. This is AirFuel's first annual conference which brings together executives and other industry stakeholders for a discussion about the latest developments in AirFuel's RF and Resonant technology groups from March 14 - March 16, 2018 in Shenzhen, China.

Energous is a leader in AirFuel's RF category with its truly wireless WattUp RF-based charging technology, which can send over-the-air power to mobile devices at a distance of up to 15 feet. RF-based charging technology can be integrated into a variety of sized receiver devices including smartphones, fitness bands, hearing aids and more, which opens the door to many applications and allows for everything from contact-based fast charging solutions to completely mobile, at-a-distance charging.

"Following a successful Mobile World Congress 2018, we are excited to showcase our very latest WattUp technology at AirFuel's Wireless Power Conference & Developers Forum," said Stephen R. Rizzone, president and CEO of Energous. "The AirFuel Alliance is the leading authority on wireless power standards and we are proud to Chair the RF charging group of the organization. We believe RF-based wireless charging is fundamental in creating the next-generation of wireless charging - Wireless Charging 2.0 - and we are committed to driving this ecosystem forward."

"We're delighted to have Energous join us to present at our first AirFuel Wireless Power Event & Developer's Forum," said Sanjay Gupta, president of the AirFuel Alliance. "As we dive into the next-generation of Resonant and RF wireless power technologies, we are looking beyond smartphones to wearables, consumer robotics, and autonomous devices, and exploring how Energous and others play a key role in driving the new wireless power ecosystem forward."

Energous' recent FCC certification turns a page for the wireless charging industry, as it shifts from contact-based charging to creating a truly wireless ecosystem that allows for both contact-based and at-a-distance charging with the ability to charge multiple devices simultaneously.

Neeraj Sahejpal, senior vice president of product marketing at Energous, will be on stage demonstrating the WattUp technology on Wednesday, March 14 from 10:00-10:45 a.m. CST.
