Energous Corporation Grants Inducement Restricted Stock Units to New Employees

SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/20/16 -- Energous Corporation ("Energous®" or "the Company") (NASDAQ: WATT), the developer of WattUp®, a revolutionary wire-free charging technology that provides over-the-air contained power at a distance, today announced it has issued inducement restricted stock units to seven new non-executive employees.

On May 19, 2016, seven new non-executive employees were issued restricted stock unit awards covering a total of 156,250 shares of common stock. The restricted stock unit awards vest in four equal annual installments beginning on the first anniversary of the date of hire of each of the new employees. The awards were approved by the Company's board of directors and were granted as an inducement material to the new employees entering into employment with the Company in accordance with Nasdaq Marketplace Rule 5635(c)(4). The Company is making this announcement as required by Nasdaq rules.
